In 1980, years in which Italian design was making a name for itself in the world, Giacomo Arzuffi founded ZAV.

The company operates in the field of custom furniture, interior design, prototype creation and exhibition design.

In the early 1990s, his meeting with the Salvati-Tresoldi studio gave a significant turning point in Giacomo’s professional research path, bringing him into contact with the world of avant-garde design.
His experience in the field of furniture and his artistic knowledge allow him to create prototypes for leading Italian designers and architects such as Alessandro Mendini, Achille Catiglioni, Cini Boeri, Alberto Salvati, Francesco Mendini, Giorgio Gregori, Bruno Gregori, Matteo Tresoldi, Michela Pagani, Zanuso Junior, Andrea Grassi, Studio Fz, Silvia Giuli, Andrea Valsecchi Scotti, Piero figura, Cesare Gianazza, Massimo Pedrazzini, Claudia Gobbi, Mario Botta, Stefano Boeri, and Memphis.

Over the years, Giacomo’s passion was passed on to his children Andrea and Rossana, who together with him started “Atelier Zav.” The purpose of the new entity is to complement the usual production of interior decoration and design complements.

In the year 2020, despite the difficult historical period the world was facing, Atelier Zav decided to invest by expanding its production space.

This expansion has allowed the company to experiment with new production and processing using innovative machinery combined with craftsmanship. Not only wood but also brass, fine fabrics, metals, and processed glass enter Atelier Zav’s daily work of experimentation and processing.

Innovative spirit and quality of handmade craft product are the distinguishing features of this company.
